To rollout services based on Multimedia Service Platform you must tipically take into account the following costs: One time costs - Costs for Multimedia Service Platform (Deployment fee & Capacity fee) +
- Costs for physical servers (Dell PowerEdge 1950 or similar) +
- Costs for development of the WEB portal using SOAP/XML toolkit (8 to 12 weeks) +
- Costs for PSTN gateways or PSTN termination service
Recurrent costs - Costs for platform support (yearly Support fee calculated as a percentage of 1) +
- Costs for hosting the servers, power and network connectivity +
- Costs for support of PSTN gateways and physical servers +
- Costs for system administration (calculate at least one full time equivalent)
The minimum commitment for support is two years period. Upgrade costs - Capacity upgrades can be ordered in increments of 10,000 for SIP accounts or ENUM numbers and 1,000 for media sessions
- Additional servers are required to handle the increase of capacity. As a rule of thumb, add one server for each 30,000 accounts and one server for each 1,000 media streams
- The servers purchased for a smaller installation can be reused for a larger installation
